Hilton Head Island Surf Lessons
Surfing in Hilton Head, South Carolina, can be easy and enjoyable for all ages with the expert guidance of Hilton Head Outfitters’ experienced surfing instructors! Our surf lessons emphasize Atlantic Ocean safety and teach the basic fundamentals of surfing while creating a fun experience for the whole family with memories that will assuredly last a lifetime!
YEAR-ROUND SURF LESSONS
Surf lessons are available year-round on the private white sand beach in front of The Dunes House inside the legendary Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort.
Weekend availability varies. Please call Hilton Head Outfitters to check the schedule. Class times change each day depending on high tide. All surf lessons run for 90 minutes and require pre-registration.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
The minimum age for group lessons is seven years old. Children five or six years old are welcome but require private instruction to ensure safety in the water and to have help constantly available for handling the surfboard. Adults of all ages are always welcome!
PRICING
Hilton Head surfing lessons are 90 minutes long and available year-round, Monday through Friday. You can book online, call the number below, or signup at the Hilton Head Outfitters & Bike Rentals shop located in Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort.

Each lesson starts with a surf-style yoga warm-up to get the blood flowing and the mind clear. Then you'll dive into Atlantic Ocean education, water safety, and some Hilton Head surfing history.

Each group finishes with an ice-cold watermelon (when in season for large groups) and a team photo.
