Hilton Head Outfitters, located inside Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island, SC, specializes in a variety of bike rentals and bicycling gear for your outdoor adventures. Outfitters rental selections include mountain bikes, beach cruisers, tandem bikes, kids bikes, and much more.
Palmetto Dunes offers nearly 5 miles of paved bike paths ideal for exploring, while the entire island of Hilton Head offers more than 80 miles of trails that intertwine from one end of the island to the other. Guests who rent a bicycle at Hilton Head Outfitters can explore the green canopy covered trails or try cycling along the beach. An underpass for bicyclists and pedestrians allows safe access from Palmetto Dunes to Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina without having to cross Hwy. 278.
In addition to bike rentals, Hilton Head Outfitters has a great selection of accessories and equipment for sale. We offer seats, bells, lights, and helmets. We can also repair your personal bike should you need this service. Outfitters is an authorized Thule dealer and has a great assortment of racks for bikes, kayaks, surf boards, skis, etc. We can also special order a rack customized to fit your transport needs!

Bikes for Rent
26" Adult Beach Cruiser
26-inch adult beach cruisers are designed for adults 5 feet and taller. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use on the beach or bike paths.
Child seats accommodate children up to 35 pounds. These are available only on our adult unisex bikes.

24-inch youth beach cruisers are designed for youth and young adults 4.5 - 5.5 feet tall. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use on the beach or bike paths.

Bike with Child Seat
Our standard 26” adult bikes are fitted with a child seat that is secured tightly and mounted over the rear wheel. This option is perfect for a family with small children who wish to include everyone on a biking adventure. The child seat accommodates children from 1 ½ years of age or up to 40 lbs.

Kiddie Carts
Kiddie Carts can hold one or two children (weight limit is 85 pounds). These are available for adult beach cruisers. Bikes must be rented separately. If you have your own bike, you must bring it to the shop to have the cart attached properly.

Tag-a-longs
Tag-a-longs are for children ages 4 - 8 (weight limit is 75 pounds). These are available on adult beach cruisers. Bikes must be rented separately. If you want to use your own bike, you must bring it to the shop to see if our Tag-a-long will fit on your bike.

Adult Tandems
Adult tandems require at least one adult over the age of 25. These bikes have coaster brakes, which are good for use onthe beach or bike paths.
