Places to Bike To From Hilton Head Outfitters
Updated: Mar 30
There are over 200 miles of bike pathways on Hilton Head Island and we can’t think of a better way to explore them than aboard your Hilton Head Outfitters bike! It’s a favorite way to get around Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort and your gateway to adventure. Here are some of our favorite places to bike to from Hilton Head Outfitters.
Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina
Once you’ve picked up your bike at Hilton Head Outfitters, follow the path along Queens Folly Road and under the highway and in mere minutes you’ll find yourself at Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina. Here, you can park your bike at one of the many stands and grab a bite to eat, a refreshing drink, or take your adventure from land to sea with a boat ride.
Once you’re at Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina, park your bike at the Ship’s Store and explore the local shops and stores. Grab a coffee from Hilton Head Social Bakery or an ice cream from Frosty’s. Grab some souvenirs to cart home in your bike basket at Neptune’s Niche or grab a beach coverup at Southern Tide.
The Dunes House
Speaking of the beach, The Dunes House not only provides delicious food with a beautiful view, but its beach access is the perfect entry point to a leisurely ride along Hilton Head’s beautiful shores.
Tip: Biking on the beach is easiest during low tide because the harder, damp sand provides a smoother surface and you’re not at risk of getting sea water in your bike gears, which can lead to rust.
If you’re looking to head a bit farther afield, take the 25–minute bike ride to Coligny Plaza, where you can take in an independent film at the Coligny Theatre, taste some Lowcountry classics at Lucky Rooster, or just shop ‘til you drop! There’s public beach access here as well so you can enjoy beautiful scenery as you bike to and from.
